Archaeology staff and the archaeology special
degree students (Final Year & Third year Second semester). Department of
History, University of Jaffna has participated in the joint excavation of the
Department of Archaeology of Sri Lanka and the Commission for Archaeology of
Non-European Cultures (KAAK) of the German Archaeological Institute (DAI), on
the site of Kantharodai (Jaffna), for 19days between July 17th and
August 16th, 2023. Mrs.Sivaruby Sajitharan, Senior Lecturer in
Archaeology (Grade II), coordinated this excavation on behalf of the Department
of History.
